Yes. David was wearing special clothes that insulated him so he didn't get hurt. But, it was a little unsafe because accidents happen.When he got electrified his suit protected him not only because it insulated but because it was made of metal.the electricity was atracted to the suit, not him.

well, the suit didn't "insulate" him it conducted through the suit instead of his body.
